So I've always wanted to be a runner; felt a wave of self consciousness when driving down the road and meeting a runner, out there actually doing it. How lazy am I with my excuses of "I've never been able to run," "it makes my side hurt," "I can't breath." Well, since February of this year I have set my mind to becoming a runner, and though I may not be fast, I am proud to say that "I AM A RUNNER." I am lucky enough to have my sons who run with me when they can and a couple of very good friends to run with as well. I have completed 5 5K races to date (I walked the 1st one) and 1 2Mile race. Running is incredibly empowering for me. Thank you Rita, Zack, Nate, LeRoy, Craig, Mike and last but not least Ryder.
